Sustainability

We treasure every outdoor adventure with our pups and take our responsibility to the earth seriously. Part of the founding mission of Nomad Dog Gear is to make eco-friendly, heirloom-quality gear for dogs more accessible, so that together we can limit the amount of landfill space occupied by old/broken collars and leashes and contribute to a healthier environment for all.

We take the following measures to minimize our ecological footprint:

• We buy leather exclusively from suppliers and tanneries that have received a gold star rating from the Leather Working Group. You can read more about their standards and certification system here.
• We use only full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather that has been minimally tanned using organic materials (like tannins from tree bark) and centuries-old techniques — we don't use chrome-tanned or combination-tanned leather.
• We minimize use of synthetic materials. The only synthetic you'll find in our gear is waxed polyester thread, and all of our products ship in plastic-free packaging.
• We offer a five year, repair-or-replace guarantee on all of our products, because they're made to last. If any of our products should break within five years of purchase, we ask that you return it to us so that we can repair it. If repair isn't possible, we'll replace it at no cost to you beyond return shipping.
